Fudan University

Founded in 1905, Fudan University is one of the oldest universities in China.  During the earlier decades of its existence, Fudan expanded from Arts, Sciences, and Business to the fields of Journalism, Civil Administration, Law, and Education.  After the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949, Fudan became one of the top universities in the nation.  Since the reform and “opening” of China, around 1980, Fudan University has consistently ranked among the top three comprehensive universities in the country and is aspiring to become a leading university in the world.  Having established exchange programs with Yale, Stanford, and Washington University, Fudan selected Trinity as the first liberal arts college in the United States for a new cooperative agreement in 2011. The cooperative partner for the Trinity program, the School of Social Development and Public Policy (SSDPP), is the most internationally oriented of Fudan, running programs for international students in English.  The main campus of Fudan University is located near Wujiaochang, one of the four sub-commercial centers in Shanghai, and has easy access to all parts of the city by multiple subway lines.
