Being prepared for a semester or year away goes a long way in helping to ensure as smooth a transition as possible. There are a lot of things for you and your child to consider, such as how will they access money, will they get credit for all their courses abroad, what should they pack, and how will you communicate with them while they are away, to name just a few.
Our office makes it a priority to give students all the information and tools they need to be prepared for their time away, including individual advising sessions and group orientation meetings. Regardless of what study away program your child is going on, they will be receiving information specific to that location and program and hopefully sharing it with you. But they can never be too prepared, so additionally, the Office of International Programs has put together a general pre-departure handbook for all Trinity students studying away which you can access here, to compliment the program-specific material
