Non-Trinity Summer Programs

The Office of Study Away is available as a resource to students interested in non-Trinity Summer Study Away options as well as Trinity. The OSA maintains a list of Recommended non-Trinity Summer Study Away Programs (see below), and extensive resource library. The Summer Progams Advisor is available to advise students on credit transfer, financial aid and other matters.

Required Steps for Approval

Students interested in participating in a non-Trinity Summer Study Away program must complete the following steps:

1) Make an Appointment with an Advisor

If you are considering non-Trinity Summer Study Away program, you are required to meet with a Study Away Advisor. You may schedule an advising appointment with Zachary Macinnes, Summer Programs Advisor, via the OSA online appointment system.

2) Submit Summer Request to Study Away

All students must submit a Summer Request to Study Away PRIOR to applying to a non-Trinity program. Summer Requests are relatively simple and are reviewed on a rolling basis. Students can expect a response from the Office of Study Away within two weeks of submitting a completed request.

3) Apply to the Program of Choice

Once your Summer Request to Study Away has been approved, you may apply to the program of your choice. Please see below for a list of recommended non-Trinity Summer Study Away programs.

4) Apply for Transfer Credit through the Registrar's Office

If you wish to transfer credit from a non-Trinity Summer Study Away program back to Trinity, then you must apply PRIOR to your program start date. The procedure for applying for transfer credit for non-Trinity Summer Study Away involves several steps, so it is important to give yourself adequate time to complete these steps and to have the “Application for Transfer Credit” processed. The Application for Transfer Credit deadline is at least two weeks before your Summer Study Away program start date.

You should have two or three courses pre-approved; that way, if your desired course is not available, you will have a back-up course for which you may register. Please see the Registrar's Office to access the form: Application for Transfer Credit.
