Photo Contest

​​This year we have received over 80 photos. We are currently reviewing all submissions and hope to have a decision late August/Early September. All students will be emailed with a list of the winners. Thank you for participating in the contest!

How it works

  • Eligibly students: Studied away Fall 16, Spring 17,  Academic Year 2016-2017, or Summer 17.
  • Students can submit 1 photo per category (5 total).

  • Each photo must have a title and 150 letter description. This only needs to be a sentence or two.
  • The Office of Study Away will review all photos and vote on the winners.


There will be CASH and other varies prizes for the “Best in Show” and “Category winners.”

All photos will be showcased in Mather Hall for the Month of October 2017.


  • An Artistic Eye – This category gives students the opportunity to showcase their artistic skills with a photo from abroad. Filters and other photographic tools are allowed in this category.
  • A photo is worth a thousand words – This category is for those breath taking photos of beautiful sceneries and larger than life sites. Everything from untouched forests to iconic buildings to the top of the world. Show us the beauty that exists throughout the world.
  • Bantams Abroad – We want to see our students! Submit a photo of Trinity students showing off their school spirit abroad. (Ex: Wearing Trinity apparel, student/faculty group shots, etc.)
  • Learning beyond the classroom – Stepping into a new city or country opens the door to so many amazing opportunities. This category is dedicated to the times and places that enabled you to step out of the classroom to learn and grow. Maybe on a class walking tour, at an internship or on an excursion.​​
  • Experiencing place and space through a new lens – A huge part of going abroad is experiencing a new and exciting culture. Share a photo that captures the local customs, traditions or events from your host country/city. (Ex: Festivals, holidays, elections, traditions Sunday dinner).

Contest Ru​l​es

​If your photo does not adhere to the following rules it will be disqualified

  • Students can submit 1 photo per category. (5 total)
  • Student must have taken the photo themselves.
  • No photos of yourself.
  • The photo must not be manipulated in any way (except for An Artistic Eye category)
  • Photos should be high quality to ensure we can print and display them.​
  • The photo cannot contain any inappropriate behavior, unlawful activity, use of drugs or alcohol, nudity or vulgar gestures.

How to Submit

In order to be considered, all photo contest submissions must be received no later than July 15th , 2017. Please send photos as a .jpeg attachment via email to Lindsay Oliver at

Exhibition date: The exhibit of winning photos will be during the Study Away Fair in October.​​​
