The Office of Community Service and Civic Engagement is committed to managing numerous outreach programs that bring together the College and the greater Hartford community. These initiatives serve to reinforce Trinity’s ongoing dedication to civic responsibility and enhance its role as a good citizen within the community.
Through a wide range of effective programs designed to engage students, faculty, staff, and alumni with local service organizations, the College continues to strengthen its long-standing relationships with its neighbors. It is Trinity’s position, as demonstrated by the Office of Community Service and Civic Engagement, that these partnerships offer immeasurable benefit to the College as a whole, as well as to the world beyond our campus.
Some examples of Trinity’s many civic involvement groups include: the Community Outreach Leadership Team (COLT), which is the largest student organization on campus. COLT is the umbrella organization for a host of outreach initiatives; the College’s chapter of Habitat for Humanity is an active and enthusiastic campus entity that teams with local affiliates in a spirit of true cooperation; and Praxis, a residence-based community service program through which students engage in service projects both on campus and off.
