On Friday, April 8th, the Community Learning Initiative, together with TCCTR and the programs in Public Policy and Human Rights, sponsored a faculty development workshop. Students and practitioners from the faculty and community discussed how social change projects have worked and might work as part of teaching at Trinity. They concluded that involvement in policy, advocacy, and community organizing projects can help students acquire skills in critical analysis, writing, and speaking. In addition, public awareness projects can sharpen research skills and increase student satisfaction.
