  Photos from Enthomusicology Methods Course

Photos by: Pablo Delano

In the course "Ethnomusicology Methods," led by Eric Galm, Assistant Professor of Music, our goal was to look at how bomba and plena function within Puerto Rican culture here in the United States.

These are bomba and plena drumming classes with Ray Gonzalez, Victor
Sterling and Esteban Arufatt.

We took bomba dance classes from Sarahi Ayala, Don Flores and his
children Jessica and José, and we also worked with with percussionist Jorge
Fuentes, and we had guest lectures from Ruth Glasser at the University of
Connecticut in Waterbury, Professor Pablo Delano at Trinity, and for looking
at collaborations between academic institutions and communities, Professor
Samuel Araújo from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.
