About Quest

Incoming first years in the class of 2012 have the opportunity to start their Trinity College journey with a wilderness adventure on Quest, Trinity’s extended pre-orientation option.

For the past four summers, Trinity College has been proud to offer the Quest leadership program. Few colleges or universities offer an extended wilderness adventure comparable to Quest. The "lead from behind" philosophy encourages participants to take on new challenges and responsibilities, and fosters an environment conducive to personal growth.

Students will be transported by bus from Trinity College to the program location – Killarney Provincial Park, located in southern Ontario, Canada or the Appalachian Trail in New England – and divided into groups of sixteen, forming two sister patrols of eight participants each.

Two student leaders from the College, trained in wildnerness first-aid, will help facilitate each patrol’s experience.  Previous outdoor experience is not required: leaders will teach all the basic wilderness skills necessary on the trip.

Trinity College faculty and staff will serve as program staff, responsible for facilitating climbs and rappels, in-park transportation, and overall program logistics.  At the conclusion of the program, participants will be transported by bus back to campus. August participants will arrive in time to participate in fall athletic practices, the PRIDE program and RA training.
