Health Fellows Program
Launched in 1999, the Health Fellows Program is an innovative academic program offering Trinity students exceptional opportunities to explore healthcare and to participate in a wide range of healthcare-related activities. In addition to their regular coursework, students in the program work 30 hours per week with clinical-care physicians in one-on-one relationships at area medical centers. Students combine challenging course work with rigorous on-site scientific research.
Interdisciplinary Science Program
This program is open to a select group of students who possess exceptional scientific and mathematical aptitude, who are strongly motivated to succeed academically, and who are especially eager to study science and mathematics within the context of a liberal arts education. The goal of the program is to provide participants both a broader understanding of the nature of scientific activity and the opportunity to foster their interest in science by engaging in research early in their academic career.
Community Learning Initiative
Community Learning is founded on the principal that all knowledge is fundamentally community knowledge. Knowledge is communal at its creation, in the collaborations of scholars, and it is communal in its use, informing and improving life in communities. Sharing the processes of creating and using knowledge never diminishes it, neither in quantity nor value; in fact, the scope, depth, accuracy, and clarity of knowledge increase as the range of sharing increases.
Interships, Academic
For many of our students internships are an important component of the total educational experience. Trinity’s Internship Program is exceptionally strong, with more than 200 established placements and the option for students to design their own.
Community Services
The mission of the Office of Community Service and Civic Engagement is to build strong, sustainable partnerships with the Hartford community and to strengthen service, community commitment, and civic responsibility as central to Trinity’s institutional mission as well as to the experience of each member of the Trinity College community. The Office realizes this mission through the creation and implementation of a comprehensive and cohesive array of civic and service programs that engage students, faculty, administration, staff, and alumni.
