Volunteering in the Community
Sub-title

The community that Trinity embraces is one of diversity and opportunity.  With its urban location, Trinity provides students the opportunities for exposure to many different socio-economic and cultural groups through internships, the Community Learning Initiative, and volunteer placements in clinics, hospitals, shelters, and community service facilities.  Additionally, Hartford Hospital (a top tertiary care and community health hospital) St. Francis Hospital (named as one of the Top 100 Cardiac Hospitals in the country), Connecticut Children’s Medical Center (the major pediatric health center in Southern New England) and the Institute of Living (an internationally known in-patient psychiatric hospital) are all within a 5 minutes drive of campus and provide students with unparallel exposure to the health professions at all levels of service. Located at the Institute of Living is the Olin Neurospychiatry Research Center (ONRC), one of the premier functional MRI centers of in the world.  The University of Connecticut Medical and Dental Schools are also nearby (less than 20 miles).
