The Trustees approved the design by the distinguished firm Smith Edwards Architects for the interior and exterior renovations of Seabury and Jarvis, and the work began in May 2007. The Trustees also approved the renovation of Trinity Commons (the former CPTV building) to provide swing space throughout the period of the Master Plan. Programming for both Jarvis and Trinity Commons is complete and floor plans can be viewed below. The renovation work on Trinity Commons was completed by May 1, 2007 and Seabury will be complete by September 1, 2008.

10/29/07 update
In order for faculty to take full advantage of the newly designed space in planning for 2008-09 courses, Smith Edwards Architects and technology consultants, CCR Pyramid, held a presention on their design of Seabury's classrooms and public spaces. This informal session provided faculty an opportunity to learn and ask questions about floor plans, seating, and technology. Click here to view the consultants' presentation. For more detail on the space design, please see the three architects' drawings listed below. Also available is an enlarged version of Seabury’s proposed floor plan, which is an interesting comparison to the original floor plan.

Long Walk
Another noteworthy segment of the Long Walk restoration and renovation project is replacing the actual pathway. As a result, it became imperative to develop a plan to preserve and restore the three rows of trees that border the Long Walk, as well as the two groups of trees that lead to the Brownell Statue. We retained Red Oak Landscaping to evaluate and recommend a landscaping plan. You may read the landscaper’s recommendation as well as view a diagram showing the existing tree configuration and proposed removal and replacement.
