Campus Master Plan 2006
Overview

In 1997 Trinity College implemented a conceptual plan for campus revitalization that enabled the campus to facilitate and reflect its academic mission in a new way. The plan put a premium on Trinity’s urban location by complementing an inward-looking orientation fashioned around the cloistered effect of academic quadrangles with an outward-looking engagement of our city and our world, while blending renovations to historic buildings with new building projects.  Completed projects include the Admissions and Career Services Center, Summit Street residences, three cultural centers, the Raether Library and Information Technology Center, the Fuller Arch, and extensive renovations to the Chapel.

In 2006 Trinity established a working group of trustees, administrators, and faculty to oversee an updated master plan, and hired planning architects Bohlin Cywinski and Jackson to address new opportunities and needs, and to expand upon the principles set forth in the 1997 Campus Master Plan.  The logic of the 2006 campus master plan demands a carefully crafted implementation sequence, a series of steps that can be built incrementally as financing becomes available and can allow the College to function effectively during the entire duration.  Implementation may span a period of fifteen years or more.  The list below includes projects we expect to complete during the next fifteen years.
