Current Campus Improvements

During the summer of 2007, many capital improvements were undertaken including the renovation and restoration of the Long Walk and the renovation and modernization of Mather Hall. Additionally, the Koeppel Community Sports Center opened its doors in November 2006, a multi-use athletic facility on the southern edge of campus. It features the Albert Creighton Williams '64 Rink, a state of the art 200' x 90' ice arena that serves as home-ice for Trinity Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey teams, and provides opportunities for faculty, students, and staff to collaborate with the community through academic and athletic mentoring programs.

Our new Center for Urban and Global Studies will be housed at 70 and 66 Vernon Street, and the new director and dean, Professor Xiangming Chen, will be programming an array of offerings for students and faculty. Also in 70 Vernon Street will be the offices of Anne Lundberg, Director of Internship Programs; Elinor Jacobson, Program Coordinator for Urban Engagements; Professor Cardenas, Director of our Human Rights Program; and Jason Rojas, Director of Community and Institutional Relations. Next door in 66 Vernon Street will house the Office of International Programs. Anyone interested in Study Abroad opportunities should direct themselves to that the staff who will occupy that building.

The Center for the Study of Religion in Public Life  and the Institute for the Study of Secularism in Society and Culture are now located in 71 Vernon Street.

A list of completed and ongoing projects are listed below.

In 2006 Trinity established a working group of trustees, administrators, and faculty to oversee an updated campus master plan, and hired planning architects Bohlin Cywinski and Jackson to address new opportunities and needs, and to expand upon the principles set forth in the 1997 Campus Master Plan.  The logic of the 2006 campus master plan demands a carefully crafted implementation sequence, a series of steps that can be built incrementally as financing becomes available and can allow the College to function effectively during the entire duration.  Implementation may span a period of fifteen years or more.
