Description of Traditional Fees

        Late Fees on Tuition Accounts

The late payment fee for non-payment of charges on the two term bills due August 15, 2008 and December 12, 2008 is $50.  An additional $50 is charged if payment is not received within two weeks of the above due dates.  Subsequent late fees will be imposed thereafter to a maximum of $500 per semester.

If the bank returns a check for any reason, a processing charge of $20 and a late fee will be assessed.  We are unable to redeposit any checks returned from the bank.

General Fee

The General Fee partially finances the operation of the Student Center, and provides for vocational tests, laboratory fees, and admission to athletic events.

Student Activity Fee

The Student Activity Fee is set by the Student Budget Committee to support student organizations, publications, admission to Austin Arts Center, and WRTC, the campus radio station.

Transcript Fee

This one time fee of $25 entitles the student to unlimited transcript production services.  The fee eliminates the need to include payment with each transcript request.

Student Health Insurance

Every Trinity undergraduate student will be billed for student health insurance with the July tuition bill in order to assure universal insurance coverage. This cost (TBD) is the premium for the Student Accident and Sickness Insurance Plan for a 12-month period from August 16, 2008 through August 15, 2009.  The policy is underwritten by Combined Insurance Company of America, and managed by Koster Insurance Agency.  Students who already possess adequate health insurance can waive out of the Trinity College sponsored plan by completing a waiver by August 15, 2008.

What do you need to do by August 15, 2008?

  1. You will need to review your current insurance plan to see if it provides qualifying coverage for your son or daughter while here in Hartford or elsewhere in the United States and around the world.

  1. You must visit the Koster Insurance website at www.kosterweb.com to either enroll in or waive out of coverage.

·        Online Waiver Process - Students who have qualifying coverage can waive the Student Accident and Sickness Plan through the Online Waiver Process.  The Online process was designed to make the insurance selection process convenient and efficient.  To make your selection, go to www.kosterweb.com, click on Student Access, select Trinity College from the drop down menu, and follow the instructions.  In order to complete the waiver form you will need to know:

a.       the name, address, and telephone number of your current insurance carrier

b.      the name of the policyholder and the policy number and expiration date (if applicable)

c.       the name and phone number of any prescription coverage if different than your health coverage company.

Immediately upon submitting your annual Online Waiver Form you will receive a confirmation number.  Print and retain this number, as it is your only documentation that your Online Waiver Form was submitted.  Once notification of your annual waiver is sent to Trinity from the website, the charge will be removed from your tuition bill.  Until the annual Online Waiver Form is submitted and processed, students will remain enrolled in the student insurance plan and the cost of the plan will remain on their student account.  If a waiver is not completed by August 15, 2008 you will lose the opportunity to waive out until the beginning of the next academic year.

    • Enrollment Process – Students who wish to enroll in the Student Accident and Sickness Plan should complete the demographic page of the website at www.kosterweb.com.

Students who enroll in the Plan and are interested in being considered for a need based loan or grant to help with the cost should apply by sending an email to Dina Jorge at dina.jorge@trincoll.edu.

Students who fail to either complete the annual waiver form or enroll by the deadline date of August 15, 2008 will be automatically enrolled in the plan and the charge on the tuition bill will cover the annual premium.  The next available time to waive out of the plan will be the summer of 2009 for the fall of 2009 semester.

If you have any questions about the annual Online Waiver Process or on the Student Accident and Sickness Insurance Plan, please contact Koster Insurance Agency at 1-617-770-9889 or 1-800-457-5599.
