SPORTS ORGANIZATIONS

Bantam Rhinestone Rollers

The purposes of this organization shall be to provide a team for avid players of the sport of bowling, promote interest in bowling amongst the entire Trinity community, provide entry into league play at an area bowling alley and to encourage alternate sports team options to the ones already available.

Equestrian Club

The Trinity Equestrian Club is a group for those interested in equestrian activities. These activities have included riding lessons, participation in intercollegiate competitions, and attendance at equestrian events. Anyone may become a member simply by expressing interest to a club officer.

Rifle Club

Practice target shooting in a controlled and safe environment with the Trinity Rifle Club. Everyone is welcome, and no, you don’t need a gun to join.

Rugby Club (Men’s)

Trinity Rugby is a social sports club that has two (2) highly active seasons: spring and fall. On fall weekends, it competes with other small New England colleges and in the spring it plays not only other schools, but also enters various tournaments held in the area. Members are expected to attend all scheduled practices (the early practices are essential to new members!), which are supervised by a highly regarded coach. Not only is rugby fun, it can also be a great opportunity to get involved in a competitive sport on the Trinity campus. Watch for signs posted around the campus in the first few weeks of both the fall and spring terms.

Rugby Club (Women’s)

This club was formed several years ago. Anyone interested should come to initial meetings and get a physical at the training room. Everyone is welcome, and no prior experience is necessary.

Shotokan Karate Club

The Trinity Shotokan Karate Club is dedicated to the study and teaching of traditional Shotokan Karate-do. Shotokan Karate-do is a traditional martial art from Japan. Utilizing all parts of the body, karate training increases strength, speed, stamina, coordination, reflexes, and balance. It is the ultimate art of unarmed self-defense. The purpose of the club is to pass all these qualities on to anyone from the Trinity community who is interested in the martial art.

Ski Team

The Trinity Ski Team is an entirely student-run organization. There are separate men and women’s teams. Both clubs compete in Division 11 college racing, the men in the New England Intercollegiate Ski Conference (NEISC) and the women in the Women’s Intercollegiate Ski Conference (WISC). The races consist of slalom and giant slalom Alpine events.

Tae Kwon Do

The Tae Kwon Do Club is a club sport, which instructs its members in the Korean martial art of Tae Kwon Do. Tae Kwon Do teaches self-defense and hand and foot fighting. The Club also participates in tournaments and has hosted them as well.

Trinity College Club Ice Hockey Team

Trinity College offers a variety of sports to its students; however, in many cases the option within the sport is very limited. In the case of ice hockey, the only option for both men and women is varsity. No junior varsity team is offered and there are no intramural or club teams associated with Trinity College. Thus the Trinity College Club Ice Hockey Team will provide an option for Trinity students who wish to play ice hockey but do not have the time or skill level necessary to compete at the varsity level.

Ultimate Frisbee

Ultimate is one of the fastest growing sports in America. A combination of soccer, football, basketball and Frisbee, it is one of the most fun and exciting sports offered at Trinity’s informal club level. Trinity’s Ultimate team, “Ultimate Hazard,” is open to both men and women and is extremely casual. The team plays Monday-Friday in both the fall and the spring, and compete in Division 11 tournaments throughout both seasons. Players range from New England Ultimate Championship winners to players who are just learning how to throw. Whatever your skill level, feel free to come out and learn how to play or just watch this exciting sport.

Water Polo

The Water Polo Team provides a structure enabling those persons interested to participate on a regular basis and in an organized fashion. Practices and games are coed, though an effort is being made to develop fully independent seasons for the men and women. The regular season takes place in the fall during which Trinity competes at the Division 11 intercollegiate level. An informal spring season is also offered.
