The term Greek organization is used generally to refer to a fraternity or sorority—some of which utilize letters of the Greek alphabet in the organization’s name. All Greek organizations are required to be coeducational and may admit students who have attained sophomore status. These organizations are multifaceted and offer varied social, academic, and philanthropic programs. Many of their events are open to the entire campus community. About eighteen (18%) percent of the student body at Trinity is affiliated with a fraternity/sorority. The recognized Greek-letter organizations are:
Alpha Chi Rho
Cleo Literary Society
The Columns
The Fire Society
St. Anthony Hall
Sigma Nu
Sigma Psi
Inter Greek Council
The Inter Greek Council (IGC) serves as a vehicle through which Greek organizations may communicate with each other and the College as a whole. Each recognized fraternity/sorority is required to maintain membership on the
IGC and is represented by two (2) IGC delegates. IGC officers include a Recording Secretary, and a Corresponding Secretary. Among other functions, the IGC also serves to standardize, control, and regulate the rush and pledging activities
of member organizations.
