Asian-American Student Association (AASA) AASA was created to provide a sense of community to Asian and Asian- American students and others interested in Asian cultures. AASA attempts to promote awareness of the Asian cultures to the Trinity community. AASA is open to both Asian and non-Asian students to participate in a wide spectrum of multicultural and social activities, including films, lectures, dinners, field trips, and the annual Asian Food Festival.
Caribbean Students’ Association (CSA) The goal of the Caribbean Students’ Association is to unify all the Caribbean students, students of Caribbean heritage and students interested in the Caribbean experience on campus and to get them more involved in campus and community activities that highlight Caribbean life and culture. The Association’s purpose is to combine Community Service and educational programs with social events, which will inevitably lead to the increase in members’ awareness of other multicultural organizations.
Encouraging Respect of Sexualities (EROS) The members of EROS (Encouraging Respect of Sexualities) are straight, gay, lesbian, and bisexual members of the Trinity community. We are committed to fostering awareness about issues of differing sexualities on campus, with the ultimate goal of creating a more tolerant environment for gays, lesbians, and bisexual students at Trinity College. All men and women of the community, regardless of sexual orientation, are encouraged and are welcome to join and/or contribute.
French Club The Club provides people of French origin as well as French speakers with an opportunity to interact in a manner that lets them appreciate French culture. The Club seeks to promote French culture among the general Trinity community.
German Club The German Club with its weekly language table (Stamwisch) and its wide variety of German Club activities (e.g., German films, games, Kaffeeklatsch, cultural excursions) provides an opportunity for interested students of all levels of German to speak German in an informal and relaxed atmosphere and expand their understanding of the customs and culture of German-speaking countries (Austria, Germany and Switzerland).
Hillel Hillel is an organization to bring together students in an open forum who wish to discuss issues dealing with Judaism. Also an outlet to facilitate the observance of Jewish holidays and practices. Holds regular meetings and creates a social environment for Jewish students on campus.
IMANI Imani was organized for the advancement of Black awareness. The organization has been concerned with educating itself and the College as a whole by raising issues in black arts, history, politics and culture, both past and present. In cooperation with faculty, students and administrators it has sought to develop a more cognizant and receptive campus mass effort to make black life at Trinity more meaningful and productive. Many members of IMANI involve themselves with organizations on campus and in the Hartford area that are engaged in fostering black rights and achievements. The organization is housed in the Umoja House at 72 Vernon Street.
Italian Club The purposes of the Italian Club shall be to provide an environment for individuals interested in the Italian language and culture. To independently promote activities related to Italian culture at Trinity College, in the Greater Hartford area and in other locations that have a strong Italian heritage. To serve as a forum for discussion of issues relating to Italian society and culture. To serve as a source of information on Italian issues among members and the community at large.
La Voz Latina (LVL) The purpose of LVL is to increase the awareness of Latin American culture, politics and social issues in the Trinity community. It has a commitment with the Hispanic community of Hartford in bringing what they can offer to Trinity and Trinity’s Hispanic students.
Multicultural Affairs Council (MAC) MAC shall provide a support network for traditional minority organization. MAC also serves as a liaison between the Student Government Association and the minority organizations.
MOCA (Men of Color Association) The purpose of MOCA is to unify all men of color on campus and to increase the awareness of its members and other Trinity students to the issues pertaining to men of color. These issues can be academic, political, and social. Perhaps with discussion about these issues, men of color will develop support among themselves and the rest of the Trinity Community. MOCA does not discriminate on the basis of race, sexual orientation, or religion. It is hoped that all students will show interest in the organization and will join.
Muslim Student Association (MSA) Provides support, services, and advocacy for the Trinity Muslim community. MSA serves as a bridge to promote understanding and good will between religious and cultural organizations in the greater Hartford area. MSA also strives to establish a forum whereby all students and the greater community can learn about the Islamic faith and way of life.
Portuguese Club The purpose of this organization shall be to promote and gain a better understanding of the cultures of the Portuguese-speaking world and to introduce them to the Trinity Community.
Russian Club To organize the Russion-Eastern European community on campus and to further interest in Eurasian studies and cultures.
Spanish Club Provides members with an opportunity to speak Spanish through the organization of weekly activities. Fosters interest for the cultures and societies of the Spanish-speaking would include Latin America, Spain and Spanish-speaking regions of the US. To establish contacts with the Spanish-speaking community of Hartford, CT.
Trinity College Black Women’s Organization (TCBWO) Trinity Coalition of Black Women Organization (TCBWO) was founded in the early 1970s to address the issues and needs of black women at Trinity College. Events sponsored by TCBWO, such as lectures, films, and social events, heighten social and cultural awareness of TCBWO members as well as the College community. TCBWO also co-sponsors many of its events with the Pan African Alliance and other student organizations.
Venetian Club The Venetian Club provides its members with a forum to increase their knowledge and appreciation of the art, music, history, and culture of Venice. The Venetian Club’s main purpose is to engage students not only in the study of Venice but also in Venice’s restoration. |
