Roman Catholic Campus Ministry

‚ÄčThe Roman Catholic Campus Ministry, sponsored by the Archdiocese of Hartford, brings a vitally important dimension to spiritual and religious life at Trinity College. The Roman Catholic student community at Trinity participates in the sacramental life of the Church and serves actively as a partner in community outreach and dialogue that promotes understanding and tolerance on campus. Under the care of the Reverend Anthony Smith, the Roman Catholic ministry offers regular worship for staff and students, as well as pastoral care and counseling. John Campbell, Lay Chaplain, participates fully in the life of worship and leads the service and social justice programs, catechetical and community building efforts, advises the Newman Club, a student organization on campus, and serves as the Catholic liaison to the other faith communities on campus. Roman Catholic Mass is offered every Sunday evening in the Friendship Chapel at 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesdays at 12:15pm in the Crypt Chapel.

Throughout the academic year, the Newman Club, the Roman Catholic student organization on campus, sponsors dinners, discussions, and fellowship on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm in the Charleston House of Interfaith Cooperation, 155 Allen Place.

The Roman Catholic campus ministry also has a twice-weekly service outreach program to The Catholic Worker after school program in the North End of Hartford as well as a winter, spring and summer service trips. Catechesis, prayer opportunities, and a retreat are all offered as well. For more information, please contact John Campbell (john.campbell@trincoll.edu)
