Lisa Kassow, Hillel director

Lisa Pleskow Kassow lived in Jerusalem, Israel from 1978-1990, where she was an award-winning photojournalist. Before becoming Trinity’s full-time Hillel director in 2001, Kassow worked at the Greater Hartford Jewish Community Center (JCC) in West Hartford, CT.  

During her tenure at the JCC, Kassow directed adult education and later assumed the post of director of arts, culture, and education. Kassow is the founder and former director of the Hartford Jewish Film Festival, a program that Trinity co- sponsored for many years.

Kassow holds a BFA in art from Carnegie-Mellon University and is a graduate of the Beit Midrash program in West Hartford, CT. She was the recipient of the 2008 Jewish Vision Award of the Charter Oak Cultural Center in recognition of her involvement and work in the Greater Hartford Jewish community.

Ceceley Chambers, Assistant Director

Ceceley Chambers received her master of divinity from Harvard Divinity School in 2010, with a focus on college chaplaincy and religious experience.  While at Harvard, she was co-leader of the Jewish Students Association and an active member of the Noon Service Steering Committee.  She also holds a BA in comparative religion from DePaul University.

Before becoming the assistant director of Trinity Hillel in 2012, Chambers was a religious life affiliate at Brown University, a hospital chaplain at Women and Infants Hospital in Providence, RI, and the outreach and admissions specialist at the Jewish Community Day School of RI.  Additionally, she spent five years doing non-profit development and marketing in New York City and Louisville, KY.

A native of Louisville, KY, Chambers has lived in Chicago, Paris, New York City, rural Indiana, Providence, RI and now lives on a sheep farm in South Windsor with her husband and two kids.  She is particularly proud of being a volunteer mikveh guide at Mayyim Hayyim Community Mikveh in Newton, MA.
