1. Do I have health insurance through the TCHC?
- No Trinity students are no longer provided coverage as of 8/14/05. All students must have coverage from home, or purchase a policy through private companies or through Koster Insurance, call them at 1-800-457-5599 with any questions.

2. Do I have to pay to receive treatment at the TCHC?
- There is no fee for an office visit for an undergraduate student. IDP and graduate students need to pay a one time annual fee that will cover all office visits. Some services (e.g., lab and x-ray) have related costs that students are responsible for paying.

3. If I need medication, is that covered?
- Some medications are available at the TCHC at a cost. You can use cash or Bantam Bucks to pay for your prescription. You can also take a written prescription to a local pharmacy and pay for this medication yourself or try to use your home health insurance. If the pharmacy does not accept your insurance you should submit the bill to the insurance company for possible reimbursement.

4. Can I refill medications at the TCHC?
- Only those medications that were initially prescribed by the TCHC staff can be refilled at the TCHC. If you are taking medication prescribed by another health provider, you can ask that provider to telephone or fax refills to a local pharmacy. These telephone numbers are located on the Referrals page of the TCHC website. A helpful printable form can be found here.

5. What do I do if I am sick and the TCHC is closed?
- If your illness occurs while school is in session, you can use the online self care guide, or call Campus Safety at x2222 and ask to speak to the NP on call. Campus safety will ask for your name, telephone number, and a brief description of your illness, and the NP will call you back. The information you give to any TCHC or Campus Safety staff members is confidential.
- If you're sick and Trinity is on vacation, you can go to one of the nearby walk-in health centers. Addresses, telephone numbers, and driving directions to these offices can be found on the Referrals page of the TCHC website.
- You can also access the student Self-Care Guide on the TCHC website at any time to find answers on how to treat different symptoms and when to seek professional treatment.

6. What if I just have a headache or a cold?
- The TCHC dispenses a 48-hour supply of common over-the-counter (OTC) medications in some of its self-care kits. You can also purchase many brand-name OTC medications at the Trinity bookstore. After hours, you can use the medication-dispensing vending machines located at the north end exit of Mather Hall or in the foyer of the TCHC, which remains unlocked at night.

7. What if I need emergency medical treatment in the middle of the night?
- The Trinity College Emergency Response Team (TCERT) is a student-run emergency medical technician organization. These EMTs are available 24-7 by calling x2222 and asking for TCERT to be dispatched.

8. Are birth control methods available in the TCHC?
- If your GYN exam is done at the TCHC, you may obtain prescription refills for oral contraceptives. Some of these medications are available in the TCHC for a fee. Our prices are generally more competitive than those at local pharmacies.

9. What do I do if the condom breaks while I am having sex?
- Emergency contraception (e.g., Plan B) is available at TCHC during office hours. It can be taken up to 120 hours after unprotected sex and is very safe and well tolerated.

10. What are the TCHC hours of operation?
- TCHC has the following hours while Residence Halls are officially open:
Monday - Friday: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
Saturday: 12:00 Noon - 4:00 PM
Sunday: Closed

11. How do I contact the TCHC?
- Call 297-2018 for an appointment. In most cases students are usually seen the day of their call. For after hours assistance, call Campus Safety (x2222) to reach the Nurse Practitioner on call.
