Trinity College Emergency Response Team

All members of the Trinity College community have access to the services of TCERT, the Trinity College Emergency Response Team. TCERT responds to all medical emergencies on our campus and is licensed by the State of CT as the First Responder for this area. This means that TCERT responds to the scene (with an average response time of two minutes) to provide medical care until the ambulance arrives, which can be up to 8 or 12 minutes.

TCERT members are certified by the State to the EMT level (the same as most ambulance personnel) and possess the essential equipment found on an ambulance, including cardiac defibrillators. Medical emergencies should be reported to the Campus Safety dispatcher (860-297-2222), who will then activate TCERT and an ambulance response if necessary. The best guideline for when to call is as follows: if you would call 911 for an ambulance while at home for the same situation, then you should call Campus Safety while on campus. If you have any questions, please email tcert@trincoll.edu.
