On Campus Shuttle

The Trinity College Campus Safety Department is pleased to announce the beginning of a new shuttle system designed to serve the Trinity College Community.

SCHEDULE

Sunday – Wednesday:     6 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Thursday - Saturday (2 shuttles in operation):  8 p.m. to 4 a.m.

ROUTE

To provide better services to a growing number of riders, the On Campus Shuttle will operate on a continuous loop around the campus with 14 designated shuttle stops.  All of the shuttle stops are located in well-lit areas of the campus by emergency call boxes:

The shuttle stops are:

Mather

Seabury (Hamlin Archway)

Jarvis Arch

86-88 Vernon Street

Vernon Street Crosswalk

Ogilby

Interfaith House 155 Allen Place

1289-1291 Broad Street (Art Studio)

Anadama

Wiggins

Hallden / Austin Arts Center

Clement Chemistry Laboratory / Raether LITC

Ferris Broad Street Parking Lot

Funston

Please note that the drivers of the On Campus Shuttle will make every effort to slow down and pause at every stop around the campus.  The shuttle will also park by Mather Hall for about a minute since this stop is the most used by passengers.

ESCORTS

Campus Safety will only provide medical escorts.  Trinity's Campus Safety Officers will provide walking escorts for students wishing to go from one point on campus to another during the hours of darkness.  During College business hours, Campus Safety has hired student drivers to escort students to the hospital and other medical facilities. Whenever possible people should travel in groups and/or use the shuttle.

OTHER

Students are strongly urged not to press the drivers to make special stops.  This practice causes the shuttle to deviate from the loop causing much frustration to other passengers.  Please remember that other students use this service as well and it can work for everyone.

U-PASS

The U-Pass is a special transportation pass for Trinity College students, which are valid for free, unlimited trips during the semester on CT Transit local buses.  It’s a safe easy way to get around Hartford.  When you get on the bus, show the driver your Trinity ID and insert the U-Pass into the pass reader on the fare box.  The F and Q buses operate on routes to and from Downtown Hartford and offer close and convenient stops adjacent to the campus.  Bus schedules are located outside of Mather Hall.  Route or schedule questions can be directed to CTTRANSIT at 525-9181.  If a map you need is missing, or if you lose your U-Pass, or if you have any other questions, please contact Joe Barber at x4256.

 Off Campus Shuttle

This ride system is run completely by Trinity College Students during evening and nighttime hours.  This shuttle operates within a ten-block radius of the campus, Sundays through Thursdays from 6pm until 12am and extended until 3am Fridays and Saturdays.  This semester we also have hours available during the day on Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm to 6pm to assists students with rides to area shopping areas like Stop and Shop.
Please call ext. 3333 for service and availability.  Occasionally, students are unavailable, so please plan ahead and carry sufficient funds if you need to return by taxi.

For more information concerning the On Campus Shuttle and Off Campus Shuttle, please call the Escort Dispatcher at 297-3333.

Plan ahead; do not miss the last shuttle. For security reasons, Campus Safety will NOT leave campus to pick you up.  Therefore, we suggest that you always carry sufficient funds to return by taxi in case of emergency. The easiest way to call Greater Hartford Cab is by dialing (860) 666-6666.  If you have any concerns with the shuttle program, please contact Charles Morris or Jorge Lugo at 297-3333.
