The U-Pass Program is a transportation partnership between Trinity College and CT Transit, the public transportation provider for Hartford and 26 surrounding communities. The U-Pass is a semester-long bus pass (a new one is issued each semester) giving Trinity students unlimited use on CT Transit local service buses, with no out-of-pocket cost.
One of the goals of this partnership is to make higher education institutions active partners in promoting public transportation in Greater Hartford in order to reduce reliance on the automobile. The benefits of the program are numerous and include enhanced air quality as well as reduced demand for parking. Moreover, the prgram furthers the College's goal of being an engaged member of the Hartford community. By using CT Transit, students are able to embrace Hartford as a place that is familiar and well-known. During the sixteen years of the U-Pass Program, Trinity students have logged over 800,000 rides on CT Transit buses through U-Pass.
If you are a First-Year student, you will receive your U-Pass at check-in when you arrive at Trinity. If you do not receive your U-Pass at check-in, or if you have other questions about the program, please feel free to contact the program's coordinator, Joe Barber, director of community service and civic engagement, at (860) 297-4256 or e-mail Joseph.Barber@trincoll.edu.
