The U-Pass Program is a transportation partnership between Trinity College and CT Transit (www.cttransit.com
), the public transportation provider for Hartford and the 26 surrounding communities. The U-Pass is a semester-long bus pass (a new one is issued each semester) giving Trinity students unlimited use on all CT Transit local service buses as well as CTfastrak (www.ctfastrak.com
) – Connecticut’s first bus rapid transit system—at no out-of-pocket cost to the student.
One of the goals of this program is to make higher education institutions active partners in promoting the use of public transportation in Greater Hartford. Using CT Transit as one of the primary ways to transport ourselves throughout Hartford allows students to embrace Hartford as a place that is familiar and furthers the College’s goal to be a more engaged member of the Hartford community. During the seventeen years of the U-Pass, Trinity students have logged over 325,000 rides in the CT Transit system through the U-Pass.
If you are a new student, you will receive your U-Pass at check-in when you arrive at Trinity. If you do not receive your U-Pass at check-in, or if you have any questions about the program, please feel free to contact the program’s coordinator, Joe Barber, director of community service and civic engagement, at (860) 297-4256 or via e-mail at Joseph.Barber@trincoll.edu
