Karla Spurlock-Evans:
Dean of Multicultural Affairs and Affirmative Action Officer
Dean Karla Spurlock-Evans oversees the Office of Multicultural Affairs. Encouraging a participatory environment, Dean Spurlock-Evans provides leadership and direction for the office, working in close collaboration with both student and professional staff members. The Dean strives to provide opportunities for students to explore and embrace multiple cultural experiences, and is concerned with assuring that Trinity College is a fully inclusive community. The Dean, who reports to and advises the President, works with fellow administrators and faculty to develop academic and mentoring programs, to formulate and implement recruitment and retention strategies, and to stimulate support from alumni/ae, corporations, and friends of the College. She also serves as Affirmative Action Officer and Ombudsperson for administrative staff.
Carol T. Correa:
Assistant Director of Multicultural Affairs
As the Assistant Director, Ms. Correa shares with Dean Spurlock-Evans the dynamic leadership of the Office of Multicultural Affairs. She provides direct supervision for office management, graduate assistant and the team student workers. Ms. Correa also coordinates matters pertaining to the Cultural Houses, focusing the department’s efforts to support the expression and embrace of cultural differences. She encourages students to be active community members with a strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability.
Haron Atkinson:
Graduate Assistant/P.R.I.D.E. Coordinator & Supervisor of the Cultural Houses
Multicultural Affairs and Alumni Relations
Mr. Atkinson supervises all programs and projects pertaining to P.R.I.D.E. and the Cultural Houses. He acts as a liaison between Multicultural Affairs and Alumni Relations. Mr. Atkinson supervises P.R.I.D.E. and Cultural House staff to help assure that they help create a positive environment where students can develop both personally and culturally as well as academically. He is responsible for supervising the maintenance and programming at the Cultural Houses. Mr. Atkinson is a dynamic leader committed to strengthening the Office of Multicultural Affairs.
