Karla Spurlock-Evans:
Dean of Multicultural Affairs and Senior Diversity Officer
Dean Karla Spurlock-Evans oversees the Office of Multicultural Affairs. Encouraging a participatory environment, Dean Spurlock-Evans provides leadership and direction for the office, working in close collaboration with both student and professional staff members. The Dean strives to provide opportunities for students to explore and embrace multiple cultural experiences, and is concerned with assuring that Trinity College is a fully inclusive community. The Dean, who reports to and advises the President, works with fellow administrators and faculty to develop academic and mentoring programs, to formulate and implement recruitment and retention strategies, and to stimulate support from alumni/ae, corporations, and friends of the College. She also serves as Senior Diversity Officer and Ombudsperson for administrative staff.
Carol Correa deBest:
Associate Director of Multicultural Affairs
As the Associate Director, Ms. Correa deBest shares with Dean Spurlock-Evans leadership of the Office of Multicultural Affairs. She provides direct supervision for office staff, the graduate assistant and student peer leaders. Ms. Correa deBest also coordinates matters pertaining to the Cultural Houses, provides leadership development and staff support for student organizations.
Duane Tyler:
Graduate Assistant/P.R.I.D.E. Coordinator & Supervisor of the Cultural Houses, Assistant Football Coach
Mr. Tyler, in collaboration with Ms. Correa deBest, supervises all activities related to P.R.I.D.E. and to the Cultural Houses. Mr. Tyler supervises P.R.I.D.E. and Cultural House student staff members assuring that they help create a positive environment where students can develop both personally and ademically. Mr. Tyler makes particular outreach from the Office of Multicultural Affairs to students involved in athletics.
