Know Your Rights In The US

While you live in the United States, you should develop a basic understanding of your legal rights during your time here. The ACLU has developed invaluable resources on what your rights are in many various situations including your rights at the border, your rights when stopped by the police, and your rights if questioned regarding your immigration status. Please see their Know Your Rights page for more information on your rights in these specific situations and others that may occur during your studies.

In addition to awareness of your rights, it's important to be aware of your resources:

Trinity retains an immigration lawyer that students may consult with for immigration/citizenship specific questions. If you have an issue that you'd like to bring up for consultation, please contact Katharine Clair, International Student Advisor at katharine.clair@trincoll.edu.

Campus Safety is an excellent resource for any student who might have questions regarding law enforcement. Please see their website here.
