Campus Agreement for Students

Trinity College has an agreement with Microsoft that allows students to purchase software at a greatly reduced price.

What's available?

Our agreement with Microsoft allows students to purchase the following software for their computers that they have at school:

  • Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate (upgrade only)
  • Microsoft Office 2007 Professional Edition for Windows
    • Access
    • Excel
    • OutlookPower
    • PowerPoint
    • Publisher
    • Word
  • Microsoft Office 2003
  • Microsoft SharePoint Designer 2007 (replacing FrontPage)
  • Microsoft Visual Studio Pro 2008
  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional
  • Microsoft FrontPage 2003
  • Microsoft Office 2008 (Macintosh Edition)
    • Entourage
    • Excel
    • PowerPoint
    • Word
  • Microsoft Office 2008 (Macintosh Edition)

How do I get it?

Bring your Trinity ID to purchase a CD from the Information Technology Center. Each CD costs $25 in Bantam Bucks. If you do not have Bantam Bucks on your ID card, you may add Bantam Bucks online with a credit card at http://tcommerce.trincoll.edu. You may also put cash on your card using the Value Transfer Stations (VTS) located in Mather and on Level A of the library

You will be given a temporary installation key that will allow you to install the product on up to 2 computers and run it up to 50 times. To get a confirmation number, which will allow you to run the software indefinitely, you will be required to register with Microsoft. Instructions on how to register permanently will appear when you launch the application installer. You will ONLY be able to fully register on two computers

Students may only puchase one copy of each CD during their entire time at Trinity.

What about upgrading my operating system?

In order to upgrade your operating system to Windows Vista Ultimate you MUST currently have a valid version of Windows installed on your computer.

Before performing an upgrade to Windows Vista Ultimate, PLEASE go through the required checklist of hardware specifications that are needed to run Vista at optimal performance (the checklist is on the other side of the sign-out sheet).

What happens when I graduate/leave Trinity?

Students graduating from Trinity can keep the software installed on their machine if our license is still in effect when they leave. At the time of graduation, the Student License will convert to a perpetual license (meaning, you own the Software) as verified in you License Confirmation. This document is proof of Software ownderswhip.

What do I, the student, agree to by installing the Microsoft Software?

When purchasing CD's from LITC you will be asked to confirm that you have read the Microsoft Licensing Agreement and will adhere to it's requirements. By installing any of the software by any of the above means you are agreeing to the license which can be found at:

http://www.microsoft.com/education/schoolagreement.mspx

Miscellaneous Notes:

The College's license agreement with Microsoft is subject to change, and you will be expected to comply with any such changes or to remove the software from your machine.
