Software for Personal/Home Computers

Trinity has a number of software applications available to all active members of the college. Trinity has an agreement with Microsoft that allows faculty, staff and students to install software on their personal machines; when purchasing a computer for academic or work related use, you no longer have to buy software for word processing, editing web pages, making spreadsheets, and creating databases. Also, you no longer have to purchase upgrades for your outdated software. More information on the Microsoft licensing agreement, including what software titles are available and how to get them is available at the following links:

Trinity also provides virus protection software to all active members of the college at no additional cost. For more information, please select the version you need below:

Academic Software Personal Use

Some on-campus academic software is available for members of the Trinity community to install on their personally owned computers using limited licenses granted to Trinity College. These applications are available on the server zep, in a Windows directory called classoft, or in a Mac directory called Classroom Software. Some of these programs may require a program called Keyserver, which tracks the number of simultaneous copies of a particular program in use. In order to use Keyserver, you must: (1) have the Keyserver software installed, and (2) be connected to the Trinity network (either directly or through a VPN connection for Windows or Mac). Please contact the Help Desk if you are having trouble with any class software.

Additional software may be available for faculty members. To find out what is available, faculty should contact their resource specialist.
