Trinity College has an agreement with Microsoft that allows faculty and staff to sign out and install certain software applications on their personal home computers.
If you require any of these applications for your office computer, contact the Help Desk at x2100.
What's available?

- Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate (upgrade only)
- Microsoft Office 2007
- Microsoft SharePoint Designer 2007 (replacing FrontPage)
- Microsoft Visual Studio Pro 2005
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional
- Microsoft Office 2003 Professional Edition for Windows

- Microsoft FrontPage 2003
- Microsoft Office 2004 (Macintosh Edition)
- Entourage
- Excel

- Word
How do I get it?
Sign out a CD from the Information Technology Center. You can pick it up at the Help Desk (LITC level B at the base of the grand stairwell) and it will be yours to keep. You will be given a temporary installation key that will allow you to install the product on up to 2 computers and run it up to 50 times. To get a confirmation number, which will allow you to run the software indefinitely, you will be required to register with Microsoft. Instructions on how to register permanently will appear when you launch the application installer. You will ONLY be able to fully register on two computers.
What about upgrading my operating system?
Please examine the appropriate requirements before you install any new software on your home computer, especially if you are thinking about upgrading your operating system as there are very important details you should examine first. Click here to search for system requirement information for the product of your choice.
In order to upgrade your operating system to Windows Vista Ultimate you MUST currently have a valid version of Windows installed on your computer.
Before performing an upgrade to Windows Vista Ultimate, PLEASE go through the required checklist of hardware specifications that are needed to run Vista at optimal performance (the checklist is on the other side of the sign-out sheet).
What happens when I leave Trinity?
If you stop working at the college or we notify you that we've discontinued this agreement with Microsoft, you are responsible for removing all of the licensed software from your machine. In order to install any of the operating systems upgrades you must own a legal copy of a Microsoft Windows operating system.
What do I, the student, agree to by installing the Microsoft Software?
When picking up CD's from LITC you will be asked to confirm that you have read the Microsoft Licensing Agreement and will adhere to it's requirements. By installing any of the software by any of the above means you are agreeing to the license which can be found at:
http://www.microsoft.com/education/license/terms.asp.
