ArcGIS Desktop software is installed on all public Windows computers and can be installed on faculty office computers upon request. There are also two copies of ArcEditor on campus, an advanced version of the software that includes many more tools and features. One copy is installed on the Data/GIS machine located in the Media Library on the first floor of the Raether Library and Information Technology Center. The other copy has been installed on the computer in McCook 301 – outside of Jack Dougherty’s office. This computer is available for faculty to use, but please coordinate with Jack if you will need to use it for an extended period of time.
A plug-in called Er Mapper is also installed on the public Windows computers and allows one to open data sets on the web that use this protocol. For example, many of the historical orthophotos located on UCONN’s MAGIC map site use this technology.
