Trinity/La MaMa Program Celebrates 30 Years with Semester-Capping Student Showcase

Students from Trinity and other Colleges to Perform on Tuesday, December 13

​Hartford, Connecticut, December 12, 2016 –

WHAT: “Yes, it’s Personal – A Celebration of Trinity/La MaMa’s 30th Year” is a showcase of original works developed by students over the fall semester while studying at the Trinity/La MaMa Performing Arts Program in New York City. “Yes, it’s Personal” explores how in a world of societal pressures and stereotypes, the voices of truth become increasingly muted. The showcase is created and performed by students from Trinity College, Bates College, Oberlin College, Grinnell College, and Wake Forest University. The performance is free and open to the public.

WHEN: Tuesday, December 13, 2016, 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

WHERE: The Performance Lab at Trinity Commons

Following the 4:30 p.m. showcase, students and faculty are invited to dinner and an info session with Program Director Michael Burke and Program Assistant Jill Rousseau about the Trinity/La MaMa Performing Arts Program in New York City in the Theater and Dance lounge at Trinity Commons.

 

Background:

The Trinity/La MaMa Performing Arts Semester in New York City immerses students in the New York theater, dance, and performance communities for studies with the goal of fostering artistic, academic, and personal growth. The fall semester culminates with showcase performances of student work at La MaMa Experimental Theater Club in New York City and at Trinity College.

Online applications for Fall 2017 close on March 1, 2017, and will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
