Scholarship Donors and Recipients Honored at 17th Annual Scholars Reception

Featured Speakers are George Kellner ’64 and Sean Khosrowshahi ’10

​Hartford, Connecticut, March 24, 2016 - Approximately 250 scholarship donors and scholarship recipients and their families celebrated in Mather Hall’s Washington Room on March 3 during the 17th Annual Scholars Reception, which honors the donors and recipients of more than 450 named scholarships. The Trinity College Scholars Program matches scholarships to nearly 700 Trinity students.

The featured speaker was George Kellner ’64, who has endowed two scholarships and a Hungarian Student Exchange Program at the College. Kellner explained, “You can get significant pleasure out of creating scholarships” and can “really make a difference in someone’s life.” In his remarks to the audience, Sean Khosrowshahi ’10, a Presidential Scholar while at the College, expressed gratitude for the opportunities that the scholarship afforded him, such as participating in the Humanities Gateway Program and working as the manager for the men’s squash team.
