Hartford, Connecticut, February 10, 2017 – Students enrolled in the first-year seminar course titled “Photographing Hartford, Our City” recently had the opportunity to exhibit their photography at the Broad Street Gallery. The opening reception was held on January 26.
The first-year seminar taught by Professor of Fine Arts Pablo Delano
aims to teach students how to grapple with the methodology of visual storytelling. Hartford was the subject for the students’ practice of documentary photography, allowing them to explore and connect with the city intensely.
The first-year seminars at Trinity College are small, discussion-rich classes where students and their professor engage one another and wrestle intellectually with a topic. The seminar is driven by a faculty member’s passion for a subject, nurturing students into becoming active participants in their own learning.
