What: Led by the Chapel Singers, the Trinity Choir, and the Trinity College Carillonneur, the Service of Lessons and Carols for Christmas celebrates its 53rd year at the Trinity College Chape
l. This year, the popular services will be held at the Chapel of Trinity College on Sunday, December 4, at two identical services. The event will be streamed live through the website at: http://goo.gl/WhzSN). On Fri., Dec. 2, The Mill is hosting a holiday show featuring the Trinitones a cappella group and members of The Pipes a cappella group, as well as a performance by pianist Sergei Novikov. That same night, Cinestudio will be showing "Home Alone" (free with a Trinity ID/open to public at regular ticket prices). The following weekend, on Fri. Dec. 9, The Trinity Quirks a cappella group will be performing holiday songs and others at their final concert at the Chapel. Sat., Dec. 10, the
Trinity College Gospel Choir will perform a show entitled, “Speak Into the Atmosphere.” It is the Choir’s 23rd Annual Winter Concert. On Wed., Dec. 14, the Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy Chamber Choir and Orchestra will be performing holiday music at the Trinity College Chapel. It will be the first performance for the high school (ninth grade only), and will feature chamber music and a string ensemble. All events are free and open to the public. Background:
The Lessons and Carols service is one of Hartford’s oldest continuing traditions of celebrating the upcoming Christmas season, and will include music of the season offered by the Trinity College Chapel Singers (the oldest continuing student group on campus), the Trinity College Concert Choir, and the College Carillonneur.
