24-Hour Facility Offers Opportunities for Learning and Career Preparation

Hartford, CT, September 26, 2014 – A liberal arts education from Trinity already gives graduates an edge when they enter the workforce. That advantage is about to grow for those entering finance, thanks to the College’s new Financial Research and Technology Center. Students, faculty, and staff gathered on Wednesday for an open house celebrating the new facility and what it means for Trinity students.

Investment Club treasurer Karl Cottendin ’15, was among those at the open house. He said that, because of the access to 11 Bloomberg terminals and cutting edge financial data, the Investment Club would begin meeting twice a week instead of once. They hope to get all members Bloomberg-certified, something he calls a great asset for those beginning careers in finance.

“We’re really excited to have access to the best information out there,” he said.

The facility, located in the Raether Library and Information Technology Center, will be open 24 hours a day, allowing students to conduct their research and monitor global markets in real time.
