“Time to Get Real” Conference to Focus on Ways to Foster Peace

June 19 Forum at Trinity Hosted by Peace in Connecticut Coalition

What: “Time to Get Real – Moving Communities from Violence to Peace” is sponsored by the Peace in Connecticut Coalition. The conference will feature informative panel discussions as well as dynamic presentations. Topics of discussion will include: methodologies for breaking down divisions and building bridges across community lines; using the arts therapeutically to foster peace in communities; engaging people in advocacy relating to peace and community organizing; and strategies for mediation/conflict resolution/emotional intelligence. Background: The Peace in Connecticut Coalition was formed in October 2013 after a gathering convened by Connecticut Senator Beth Bye. The Coalition seeks to build partnerships and foster peace across communities in Connecticut.
