Edward Stringham to present talk on 'Private Governance: Creating Order in Economic & Social Life'

Davis Endowment Lecture on October 7 discusses the formation of organizations and clubs

Hartford, Connecticut, October 6, 2015 - 

What: Dr. Edward Stringham, the Kathyrn Wasserman Davis Chair in Economic Organizations and Innovations at Trinity College, will lead a discussion on his latest book, Private Governance: Creating Order in Economic & Social Life, by explaining how people spontaneously create organizations, and how a “club” is a group whereby people voluntarily join together. The event will conclude with a short Q & A.

Background: Dr. Edward Stringham is the Davis Professor of Economic Organizations and Innovations. Stringham is president of the Development of Austrian Economics Society, former president of the Association of Private Enterprise Education, editor of the Journal of Private Enterprise, editor of two books, and author of more than 60 journal articles, book chapters, and policy studies. His work has been discussed on more than 100 broadcast stations, including CBS, CNBC, CNN, Fox, Headline News, NPR, and MTV.

The talk is part of the Shelby Cullom Davis Endowment Lecture Series. The event is free and open to the public.
