Cultura Mosaica and Hartford Public Library to Host First ‘Cultural Bombazo’

Free Event on November 29 Features Music, Dance, and Poetry; Trinity College is a Community Partner

Hartford, Connecticut, November 21, 2016 –

WHAT: Cultura Mosaica and Hartford Public Library invite the community to the first “Cultural Bombazo,” with Gloria and Roberto Cepeda and some of the area’s best performers. Guests can sample Puerto Rican Bomba, Plena and Afro-Caribbean poetry. The celebration introduces participants to the history, origins, and influence of the African diaspora on Latino culture through dance and poetry. The event is free and open to the public.

Background:

Trinity College is a community partner of the Cultura Mosaica organization and will host Cultura Mosaica’s weekly classes in the Center for Urban and Global Studies on Wednesday evenings.
