Cesare Barbieri Endowment and the Environmental Science Program Sponsor Two Events on Tuesday, November 1

Luca Martelli to Discuss Earthquakes in Central Italy and the Great Flood in Florence in 1966

Hartford, Connecticut, October 31, 2016 – The Cesare Barbieri Endowment for Italian Culture at Trinity College continues its series of lectures during the fall academic semester on Tuesday, November 1, with two events co-sponsored by the Environmental Science Program.  All lectures in the series are free and open to the public.

A Common Hour research seminar in geology and material culture titled Earthquakes in Central Italy will be held at 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1, in the Alumni Lounge (Mather Hall, 2nd floor). Delivering the talk will be Luca Martelli, Servizio Geologico, Regione Emilia-Romagna. A light buffet lunch and refreshments will be served.

At 4:30 p.m., Martelli will present a slide lecture, “The Great Flood of 1966 in Florence,” in the McCook Auditorium. A reception will follow.
