‘Bridgman/Packer Dance’ Coming to Trinity’s Austin Arts Center on March 25

Visiting Artists Combine Live Performance with Video Technology

Hartford, Connecticut, March 21, 2016 –

What: In Bridgman/Packer Dance, Guggenheim Fellows in Choreography Art Bridgman and Myrna Packer integrate video technology with live performance, creating collisions between image and reality. They will perform two pieces: “Remembering What Never Happened” and “Under the Skin.” The performance is presented by the Austin Arts Center Guest Artist Series.

Background: The artistic directors of Bridgman/Packer Dance, Art Bridgman and Myrna Packer, have worked together as performers and choreographers since 1978. In 2008, they were awarded the Guggenheim Fellowship for their innovative work on “video partnering,” which incorporates both live performance and video technology. Based in New York City, they have toured throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, and Central America at various festivals, art centers, and universities.
