Trinity College Alumni Reconnect at Reunion

Bantams Celebrate and Share Memories ’Neath the Elms

Hartford, Connecticut, June 17, 2016 – Trinity College was a sea of blue and gold as nearly 1,000 alumni and their family members returned to campus for Reunion 2016, held June 9-12. This year’s Reunion reconnected Bantams from class years ending in 1s and 6s.

The festivities kicked off on Thursday night with a Class of 1966 welcome dinner hosted by the Reverend William Eakins ’66, P’01 at his home. Throughout Reunion, alumni enjoyed more than 70 events, including Friday night’s traditional New England-style clambake, Saturday’s bagpipe-led Parade of Classes down the Long Walk, Alumni Convocation, Reunion class dinners, and alumni- and faculty-led presentations. This year introduced the first-ever All-Reunion 5K Run/Walk, a beer tasting at the boathouse, and a scavenger hunt at the Chapel.

Three Reunion alumni, who wish to remain anonymous, issued a fundraising challenge to fellow alumni in class years ending in 1 or 6. They will contribute an additional $200,000 to Trinity when at least 1,250 Reunion alumni give to the Trinity College Fund before June 30, 2016. To date, nearly $1.1 million has been secured from 1,046 Reunion alumni. The fiscal year ends soon, so please click here to make your gift.
