Fall Dance Features Choreography by Students and Alumni

Performances Thursday through Saturday at Trinity Commons Performance Lab

Hartford, CT, November 20, 2014 – This summer, Glory Kim ’17 spent time teaching hip hop dance to the street children of Gweru, Zimbabwe. One of the children he met in Zimbabwe, a 16 year old named Brian, later died due to a lack of access to
medical care. Attempting to capture the emotional journey, Kim choreographed a duet and dedicated it to Brian’s memory. The piece, entitled For Brian, is among those that Trinity audiences will see at this weekend’s Fall Dance performances.

Also choreographing and performing is recent graduate Jonathan Gonzalez ’12. Gonzalez is an award-winning New York-based choreographer whose work has appeared on stages in the United States and Europe. In addition to choreographing a piece, Gonzalez is conducting a dance workshop for Trinity students on Friday, November 21.

The Fall Dance runs Thursday, November 20, through Saturday, November 22. All performances are at 7:30 p.m. in the Performance Lab at Trinity Commons, 240 New Britain Avenue. Admission is free, but tickets are required. They are available from the Austin Arts Center box office at (860) 297-2199.
