1.) Open the Mail program and click on the Mail menu. Select Preferences and a window opens. Select the Account tab at the top to add a new account.
2.) In the Add Account window, enter the following information:
- Full Name: Your full name
- Email Address: Firstname.Lastname@trincoll.edu (alumni should use Firstname.Lastname.Year@trincoll.edu)
- Password: Your Trinity password Click Continue.

3.) In the Incoming Mail Server window, enter the following information:
- Account Type: IMAP
- Description: IMAP Account
- Incoming Mail Server: imap.trincoll.edu
- Username: username@trincoll.edu
- Password: Your Trinity password Click Continue.

4.) In the Outgoing Mail Server window, enter the following information:
- Description: Outgoing Mail
- Outgoing Mail Server: asmpt.trincoll.edu
- Check Use only this server
- Check Use Authentication
- User Name: cmpcntr\username
- Password: Your Trinity password Click Continue.

5.) If prompted, do not check Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Click Continue. At this point, Mail will try to connect to the server, but it will fail. Click Cancel to exit the attempt. Click Continue. Click on the Mail menu and select Preferences. Click on the Accounts tab.
6.) In the Account Information window, select the name of the new account on the left hand side of the window. In the Password field, enter your Trinity password. Click on the drop down menu next to Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) and select Edit Server List...

7.) In the Edit Server List... window, click on the Advanced tab. Enter the following information:
- Select Use custom port: and enter 587
- Authentication: Password
- User Name: cmpcntr\username
- Password: Your Trinity password Click OK.

8.) In the Accounts window, click on the Advanced tab.
- Check Enable this account
- Check Include when automatically checking for new mail
- IMAP Path Prefix: INBOX (must be in all caps)
- Port: 143

9.) Close the window. A dialog box will ask if you want to save. Click "Save". The first time Mail connects it will cache a local copy of your account. If there is mail already in your mailbox, this could take several minutes.
