Commitment to the life of the mind and to the major functions of learning, teaching and research is demonstrated in the Raether Library and Information Technology Center. Home to the College and Watkinson Libraries as well as the Information Technology Services, the Raether Center serves as the central research facility of the College.
A repository of knowledge and informational hub and learning environment for students, the Raether Center is a blend of the latest information technologies and traditional book and media based resources. The heart of the Raether Center is the Trinity College Library, with its collections of nearly one million print volumes and approximately 700,000 non-print materials including slides, microforms, sound recordings, and audiovisual and electronic formats. Complementing the College Library is the Watkinson Library, which with its impressive collection of rare books, manuscripts, and other unique resources, supports a broad range of research interests.
The Raether Center is a place where students and faculty, collaborating with library and computing staff, come together for the serious work of scholarship, where researchers can pore over a book or conduct investigations through a wide selection of online databases. This integrated facility is truly a state-of-the art center for learning in the 21st century.
