Alumni Audit Program

An opportunity for alumni to return to Trinity for refresher courses or to enroll in new courses, without the requisite of turning in papers or taking tests.  Please note that this program is available only during the fall and spring semesters.

What is the alumni audit program?  It is an opportunity for alumni to return to Trinity for refresher courses or to enroll in new courses, without the requisite of turning in papers or taking tests.

Who can participate in the alumni audit program?  Only alumni with one exception: Their spouses may audit the course(s) being audited by the alumnus/a for the same fee.

Can I take any course?  English 101, Senior Thesis Courses, Senior Seminars, Independent Study and classes numbered 900 and above are unavailable to auditors.  Otherwise yes, provided there is room in the course, as regular students have priority.  Please visit http://internet2.trincoll.edu/ptools/CourseListing.aspx for a full course schedule.

Is there a charge for auditing? Only $150 per course. If you cannot get into a class, we will gladly refund your registration fee.

May I audit more than one course a semester?  Yes, if there is room.

When will I be informed I can audit the course(s) I have requested?  We cannot notify you until approximately the start of classes because student registration takes priority. We will notify you by phone or e-mail, whichever you prefer.

Why do I need to indicate two choices of courses?  This affords you a better chance of getting into a course.

What if I decide that I would like to receive credit for the course?  For graduate courses, credit may be received by contacting Graduate Studies before the fourth class session. For undergraduate courses, credit may be received by contacting the Office of Special Academic Programs by the end of the add/drop period (see academic calendar). Such application assumes you have completed all the work for the course, and have met all attendance requirements. If your application is approved, you will be responsible for paying the regular tuition for graduate and undergraduate courses.

What about parking facilities?  Visit the Campus Safety Office at 76 Vernon Street to obtain a parking permit. Identify yourself as a participant in the Alumni Audit Program. The good news is that there will be no charge for this permit.

Do I need a card or permission slip to attend classes?  No, all professors are notified by the Alumni Office of those who will be auditing.

May I use the library and computer facilities?  Yes, simply identify yourself as a Trinity alumnus/a and a participant in the Alumni Audit Program. The Library can issue you an alumni library card.

To register, please print the reservation form, complete, and return with your payment to the Alumni Office at the address listed.  Please direct all questions regarding the Alumni Audit Program to the Alumni Office only at (860) 297-2400 or by e-mail at alumni-office@trincoll.edu.
