WHAT'S HOT AMONG US?
October 1, 2009
Next week, members of our reunion planning group and a few of the wives for spousal perspective are meeting on campus to hammer out details for our big event in June . . . only eight months away.
We'll kick off Friday afternoon the 9th, follow-up with dinner together in downtown Hartford, then reconvene for a morning session on Saturday. Afterward, most of us will attend the football game against Hamilton. Among the matters we'll be addressing will be George Kroh's early work on the program/activities, Bill deColigny's 1960-2010 Renaissance event, Rick Richardson's yearbook initiative, Lee Kalcheim's vision for his role as Class Poet, Skip Morse's attendance stimulus plans and Mickey Lloyd's class gift timetable. Stay tuned . . . Matt Levine

Profiles for the Reunion Yearbook continue to rain in, the newest from classmates Jerry Farnsworth, Charlie Hawes, Robert Kirk, Charlie Middleton and John Schulik . . . full lives all.
Rick Richardson updated the Reunion planning team this morning on his exciting vision for the publication we will receive next June in Hartford. It will generate recollections, current laughs and feelings of mutual respect for all classmates.
Rick reminds us that he would like to receive personal profiles (w/ current photos when available) by December 1st, less than 90 days away.
Be part of it. Your participation will give the Yearbook its soul.

From Rick Richardson . . . “Response to the initial request of classmates for Reunion Yearbook profiles has been fantastic! We have already received them from: Robert Adams, Jere Bacharach, Henry Bromley, Mac Costley, Chris Davenport, Jerry Dessner, Ken Lyons, John Rutledge, Mike Varbalow, Francis Williams and Robert Wright. . . Now, let's see if we can keep the e-mail momentum going!”

From Jules Worthington (in the Martha’s Vineyard Times) – Regarding an exhibit the previous week at the Bank of Martha’s Vineyard, “My new direction is to be more primitive and child-like through simple and stylized forms in bold colors. I want to find the natural freedom of the child within me and let it express itself.” . . . and from a columnist about Jules, “ Freedom of expression is at the very core of his art career. In the span of 50 years, this academically trained and highly inventive artist has worked in a broad range of styles, including realism, op art, impressionism and abstract expressionism . . . and in a multitude of media – photography, printmaking, shaped canvas painting and kinetic sculpture.”

From Bud Anderson - “Got my first hole in one a couple of weeks ago at my club on Cape Cod . . . my son was my partner so that was fun to be with him when it happened . . . it was 217 yards and I used a driver”
