Ariana Adamski

Westfield, MA
Class of 2017
ariana.adamski@trincoll.edu
High school: Holyoke Catholic High School
Major: Pre-Medical Track, Neuroscience
Favorite class taken at Trinity: Latin American Novels with Professor Goldman
Favorite professor at Trinity: Professor Alta Lash
Why I chose Trinity: I chose Trinity for many reasons. Through my transfer process, I knew that I wanted a tight-knit community with small classes and passionate professors, unlike the large school I attended previously—the cliché of being a name and not a number was very real for me. I also knew that I wanted to major in neuroscience—a program that Trinity is known for. And while I was looking into and visiting other schools, Trinity was always the top contender. Every time I visited, the students seemed so happy to be here, the campus was gorgeous, and I was able to meet with professors before I was even accepted. Overall, Trinity was a welcoming place from the get-go, and I do not regret my decision at all.
Extracurricular activities: Tour Guide, Research Assistant, AMSA Secretary, PHAB Coordinator, Yoga Instructor, WGRAC member
What I love most about Trinity: While there are many things that I love about this place, I love how Trinity doesn’t feel as if it is located right in the middle of a city. So many urban campuses are often designed with spread out buildings, giving a concrete-jungle feel. However, Trinity manages to defy this with its gothic architecture and the quads that span campus. For me, the green space is calming and beautiful to wake up to, or to walk through on my way to a class. It provides a space for friends to take a study break, catch some fresh air, and it contributes to an overall positive atmosphere on campus.
Professional goals/career plans: I plan on taking a few years off after college to travel, volunteer, and do research before going to medical school and/or graduate school.

Why I chose Trinity: When looking at schools I really wasn’t sure what sort of college experience I was looking for.  I looked at everything from large state schools in the south to business schools to small liberal arts colleges in the northeast.  When I walked onto Trinity’s campus I knew I wouldn’t tire of its beauty over my next four years but what really sold me on the school was when I came back to campus for a second time to sit in on a couple of classes.  I sat in on both lecture and seminar style classes both of which were extremely engaging and filled with students who were warm and welcoming, and whom I could picture myself being friends with in the future.  Between these feelings and Trinity’s reputation for success and strong alumni connections I was almost confident that this school was the one for me.  After my past year and a half here my certainty and love for this school have only solidified.
