Kristie Anderson
Bridgewater, CT

High School: Shepaug Valley High School (Washington, CT)
Major: Biochemistry
Favorite Class Taken at Trinity: CHEM 111/112
Why I chose Trinity: I wanted a small liberal arts school close to my home that had an outstanding science department. Trinity fit all of my criteria. I was also drawn to Trinity when I learned of all of the special programs which they offer, including the interdisciplinary science program, of which I am a member. I was amazed that first year students in the interdisciplinary science program were given the opportunity to work in research labs and use million-dollar equipment (such as the scanning electron microscope) that most undergraduates at other universities, let alone freshman get to use, starting only their second semester! Trinity seemed to have a lot of amazing opportunities – both academic and extracurricular, great professors, and a friendly student body. I have not been disappointed.
Extracurricular Activities: Research in the Biology Dept on the extraembryonic membranes of corn snakes – involves use of the scanning electron microscope, Equestrian Team, American Medical Student Association, Trinity Chemical Society, Habitat for Humanity, swimming, hiking, veterinary technician
Professional Goals/Career Plans: I hope to attend veterinary school following Trinity. I am especially interested in large animal medicine and surgery.

Caroline “CeCe” Bazar
East Greenwich, RI

High School: Providence Country Day School
Major: Theatre and Dance
Minor: Legal Studies
Favorite Class Taken at Trinity: My First Year Seminar, Mind, Body, and the Concept of Self
Favorite Professor at Trinity: Dr. Randolph Lee
Why I chose Trinity: As a senior in high school in the midst of the college search process, I looked for two things in each school that I went to: a strong theatre program and a tight-knit community. Trinity possesses both of those qualities. With programs offered such as La MaMa and endless performance opportunities the theatre program stood out from the rest. Additionally, the size of the campus creates a feeling of community and family that is unique to the school, and thus allows each student to view Trinity not just as “the school they attend” but rather as the “home” in which they reside.
Extracurricular Activities: I am a member of Tributes, the Trinity Sailing Club, and I volunteer at a local Elementary school once a week.
What I love most about Trinity: What I love most about Trinity are the warm spring and fall days when it seems that the entire college is on the quad. The scene of students working, talking, tanning, drawing, taking a class, and playing Frisbee, is a scene seemingly extracted from a movie. The Trinity campus comes alive as students bond and form relationships that will undoubtedly last a lifetime.
Professional Goals/Career Plans: I would love to pursue my passion for acting in the world of theatre and performing arts.

New Canaan, CT

High School: New Canaan High School
Major:  Undecided
Favorite Class Taken at Trinity:  Ancient Greek Philosophy with Drew Hyland
Why I chose Trinity:  Trinity’s comfortable size and location within the city of Hartford had a large impact on why I ended up here. The smaller student body has allowed me to participate in classes with as few as six other students which I greatly enjoy. Favorite class taken at Trinity: Milton with Chloe Wheatley

What I love most about Trinity: While Trinity's inherent qualities are quite striking (its campus first attracted me to check it out), its ever-changing features, like the professors, students, and food services staff, are what make this school truly feel like a community.  This social landscape of Trinity the group of characters that has made this college so dear to me is forever dynamic, though perpetually nurturing, forward-thinking, and united.

Extracurricular Activities: Women’s Rowing Team, Model United Nations, Honor Council, Best Buddies, Newman Club, Interfaith Council

Brad DeBiase
Milford, CT

High School: Joseph A. Foran High School
Major: Biology
Minor: Hispanic Studies
Favorite Class Taken at Trinity: Art and Ideas
Favorite Professor at Trinity: Kat Power
Why I chose Trinity: I chose Trinity primarily because of its small size. The personal attention I get from professors is really rewarding because they get to know you as both a student and as an individual.  I also chose Trinity because, for me, it has a close proximity to home (right outside New Haven, CT)
Extracurricular Activities: Stage Technician at Austin Arts Center; The Fred; When Bodies Talk; Cleo of AX; Theatre & Dance, and Music Department productions
What I love most about Trinity: I love the fact that on any given day, walking from point A to point B, I end up saying “Hi” to so many people I walk past—something you might not see at a huge university. So again, the small size is really nice in that you make close bonds with your classmates quickly. I also love the campus—it’s absolutely gorgeous. It’s hard to pick just one thing, because my time here so far has been full of things I’ve loved, but those are a couple.
Professional Goals/Career Plans: Career wise, something Biology-related, probably in the field of Diagnostics, but still unsure. I hope to gain native fluency in Spanish and Italian, and be able to use it for whichever career I end up in. I also want to remain active theatre, both performing and doing tech work. Other goals include traveling to a laundry list of foreign countries, performing on a New York stage, and publishing works of writing.

Finley Harckham
Old Greenwich, CT

High School: Greenwich High School
Major: History
Minor: Undecided
Favorite Class Taken at Trinity: Andrew Jackson and His World
Favorite Professor at Trinity: John Chatfield
Why I chose Trinity: Like many students considering Trinity, I was looking for a college that would offer me an excellent liberal arts education with interesting courses and small class sizes. Trinity met this description, but it was by no means the deciding factor for my decision. What made me choose Trinity was the fact that it not only offered excellent academics but it provided many extracurricular programs I am interested in as well. I have always loved singing and at Trinity I found many opportunities. Trinity has five a capella groups on campus and Chapel Singers (Trinity’s oldest student organization).
Trinity’s location was also important in my decision to come here. Because Trinity is located on a 100-acre campus it has a very centralized community while at the same time its presence in the city of Hartford offers students access to a diverse and interesting metropolis. Trinity is also halfway between New York City and Boston, making it very easy to travel to either of these two major cities.
Extracurricular Activities: The Trinity College Accidentals (a capella), Chapel Singers, and the Hurling Club.
What I love most about Trinity: What I love the most about Trinity is the tightly knit community here. Not a day goes by when I don’t walk across campus and randomly run into friends along the way. Extra curricular groups and small class sizes foster a sense of community between students and faculty that I never thought possible before coming to Trinity.
Professional Goals/Career Plans: Not sure. Hopefully my fine Trinity liberal arts education will help me think of something!

Favorite Class Taken at Trinity: Introduction to Philosophy with Professor Brown
Why I chose Trinity: As soon as I set foot on this campus, I knew I belonged here.  I walked around the campus by myself after the tour and found myself soaking up every inch of Trinity.  The Quest program definitely swayed my college decision towards Trinity because it gave me a chance to meet incoming students and President Jones.   I knew I was looking for a school with a rigorous academic life that also came with a strong social community.  I found all of these properties in Trinity.  I couldn't be happier with my college choice.
Extracurricular Activities: I was initially planning to continue my lacrosse career here, but instead I decided to try out for the rugby team.  This is just another piece of evidence of the enormous opportunities that Trinity provides you with.  As I said before, I participated in the Quest program, which I can say has changed my life for the better.  I plan to become a leader for the Quest program next year and help other incoming students find their way at Trinity.  I have also participated in a community service program in the beginning of the year that involved most of the school.  I am currently planning on playing intramural basketball with my rugby teammates.
Professional Goals/Career Plans: Since I know a few languages, I am planning on entering an international field such as international law or diplomacy.  The politics of the world greatly interests me and the ability to travel and explore other countries' personalities and perspectives is priceless.  Trinity allows me to pursue my passions for the future by providing me with an exceptional Language Department and Political Science Department.

Major: Engineering

High School: St. Xavier’s
Major: Electrical Engineering and Math
Minor: Music
Favorite Class Taken at Trinity: Music 101 and Digital Circuits
Favorite Professor at Trinity: Prof. Alison J.  Draper
Why I chose Trinity: Trinity has a strong science program, while being a liberal arts college. This was perfect because I wasn’t sure if I would major in Engineering or Economics, or even Music. Extracurricular Activities: Karate Club, Resident Assistant, Quest Pre-orientation, Trinity College Activities Council, Intramural Soccer, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electron Microscopy, Physics TA.
What I love most about Trinity: Personalized attention given by faculty—almost every professor that I’ve taken a class with knows my name and we say ‘hi’ to each other if we pass by. This was possible only because the professors here make an effort to know you, have office hours so that you can go and ask questions or discuss things in detail and observe you throughout the semester on how you are doing in the class. This makes learning a better experience and more fun, and encourages me to do better in my classes.
Professional Goals/Career Plans: Go to graduate school and eventually get a Ph. D. in engineering.
