INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: LANGUAGE AND TESTING REQUIREMENTS

Classes at Trinity are conducted in English, and assignments, papers, and tests must be written in acceptable English. Because Trinity does not offer any English as a Second Language courses for non-native speakers, students must be able to speak and write fluently.

We strongly recommend that non-native speakers of English take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Applicants may take the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT I) or the test of the American College Testing Program (ACT) in addition to, or in place of, the TOEFL. We review these scores very carefully to ensure English proficiency.

Since postal delays often complicate the application process, international applicants are encouraged to initiate the application process well in advance of their intended enrollment date. We accept certified copies of score reports or reports sent to us directly by TOEFL, the College Board (SAT), or the American College Testing Program (ACT). Trinity's CEEB code is 3899 and the ACT code is 0598.

The thing that attracted me to Trinity was the quality of the education. After two years at an international school in New Mexico, and then a gap year working on an organic farm in Mexico and traveling through Latin and South America, I really wanted to stay in the U.S. to continue my education. Coming from an environment of so many international perspectives, I was pleased to find that the faculty at Trinity bring more international perspectives than at most colleges.
