We are excited to offer a wide selection of undergraduate courses during two terms this summer. With a few exceptions, summer classes are generally held two evenings a week, from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., on a Monday/Wednesday, or a Tuesday/Thursday schedule. Our summer courses cover the work of an academic semester in just six weeks!
Session I begins May 27, 2009
Session II begins July 13, 2009
ELIGIBILITY
*Men and women who are matriculated for a Bachelor’s degree, and who are students in good standing at Trinity are eligible for enrollment in undergraduate courses. Evidence of good standing is required at the time of registration. Undergraduates entering their junior or senior year and maintaining a “B” average may be permitted to enroll in certain graduate courses for undergraduate credit. Approval of the instructor is required. Undergraduates admitted to graduate courses are expected to complete the same requirements as the graduate students.
*Men and women who are Special Students, (non-matriculated), who are qualified to earn academic credit. Evidence of academic ability may be required for courses at the 200 level or above. Special Students are expected to meet the academic standards of the college. Special Student status neither implies nor guarantees acceptance into a Trinity degree program. A transcript of prior course work must be submitted at the time of registration. Credits earned as a non-degree student may be applied toward degree requirements if the student is later admitted to a degree program.
*Students pursuing an undergraduate degree at another college or university may register for summer classes at Trinity College as Special Students (i.e., non-matriculated). Credits earned during the summer may be transferred with the permission of the student's home college or university. A transcript of prior course work must be submitted at the time of registration.
CREDIT
Summer courses at Trinity College are the equivalent of semester courses given during the academic year. Unless otherwise indicated, each course carries 1 course credit, which is the equivalent of 3 semester hours.
REGISTRATION
Enrollment for undergraduate summer courses or for graduate courses taken for undergraduate credit is done through the Registrar's Office. The registration period begins April 13th for degree-seeking students and May 1st for special students. Students must register by mail or in person. Students who would like to register for undergraduate classes must meet all prerequisites and obtain any necessary approvals.
Undergraduate students from other colleges must submit a transcript of their prior college work.
Classes are limited in size, so early registration is encouraged. The College reserves the right to cancel courses that do not meet a minimum enrollment of seven students.
Tuition for the summer is $1500 per course credit, plus a $35 registration fee. There is an additional $25 transcript fee if this is your first registration at Trinity. Current Trinity students can register by May 1 for the first session, or by June 1 for the second session, and be billed for their courses. All non-Trinity students, or all Trinity student registrations received after those dates must make tuition payments at the time of registration.
Registration materials are now available on-line. There is a printer-friendly copy of the class listing, a document outlining procedures and regulations, a registration form, and (for first-time Special Students) a copy of the Special Student Application Form.
