What to Bring to Trinity:

Linens/Towels
twin sheets, pillow and pillow case (Our beds are extra-long sized beds, so you need extra long sheets.)
mattress pad/cover (extra long)
blanket(s) and/or comforter (It is New England, after all.)
pillows (Husbands (the pillows with arm rests) are popular.)
bathrobe and flip flops
bath caddy
soap case

Academic Supplies
scissors
tape (duct and scotch)
envelopes and stamps (A nice gift for high school friends you plan to write to is stationary and stamps.)
glue, stapler and staples
calendar

Room Organizers
hangers
hooks
plastic crates (These are great for clothes and books.)
fire resistant wastebasket

Cleaning Supplies
laundry bag or basket (Laundry bags take up less space.)
laundry detergent and quarters
general household cleaner
wisk broom and small dust pan
paper towels

Other medications and prescriptions
(You will be happy you remembered to bring aspirin and cold medicine. In addition, getting prescriptions filled out-of-state can be a hassle.)
alarm clock
power strips
desk lamp
telephone
umbrella
mirror
an area rug (The floors are tile and cold, which is nice in the summer, but not so nice in the winter.)
a bulletin board
photos of family and friends
posters
tapestries (These are great to cover the walls.)
plants (You may want to take some cuttings of plants you have at home. With most plants, you can just cut off a few stems and put them in water. When roots grow long enough, you can transplant your cuttings to a pot. This is a nice gift for students, moms and dads!)
Different vendors frequent the basement of Mather Hall selling things like plants, posters, tapestries, cards and clothes. They bring great stuff, so you may want to wait to buy some of your decorations.

Be sure to call your roommate when you get her or his name and discuss what you plan to bring. It will be easier to share some items. Remember to be considerate when decorating (don't take over the whole room) and remember to ask before borrowing/using your roommate's stuff.

Have fun creating your room!
